Obituary

Walter C. Walker affectionately known as "Hack" to family and friends, departed this life peacefully on Thursday, January 12, 2017.

Walter was born on February 28, 1931 to the late Walter W. Walker and Neely (Starnes) Walker in York, South Carolina. Walter's parents moved the family to Morristown, New Jersey in 1938 to pursue better employment opportunities. Walter was educated in the Morristown school system, graduating from Morristown High School in 1948. He attended A&T College in North Carolina for a year, then served with the Army National Guard from 1949 - 1951.

Walter met Margaret Allen in 1950, and they married on July 14, 1951. Walter was employed at Whippany Paper Board 1951 - 1979, the County of Morris 1979-1996, as well as school bus driver for Wilkerson Transportation for over 20 years.

Walter is predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Margaret (Allen) Walker and their daughter, Phyllis L. Walker.

He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Marcia D. (Walker)Gibson and Clinton Anthony Walker, Sr., 9 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, his brother and sister-in-law, John L. and Mary Alberta Walker, 5 nieces, 3 nephews, 2 Goddaughters, and a host of many relatives and friends.
